Test Results

We do not routinely contact you if your test results are normal. If the doctor requests to see you as a result of your test, then you will be contacted to make an appointment. When you attend for a test of any kind, you will be told how long you should expect to wait for the results.

Obtaining Your Results

You can request your test results by completing our online Test Results Request Form or by calling the surgery after 14:00 when the receptionists will have more time to help you.

Receptionists will only be able to assist you with results received which have been seen by the doctor and marked as “normal, no action required inform patient”.

Please do not ask the receptionists any questions regarding your tests as they are not clinically trained and will not be able to assist you.

We do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.

Pathology Samples

If the doctor or nurse has asked you to provide a pathology sample (e.g. urine, stool, sputum) these must be left at reception before 12:30, Monday-Friday.
